How to make a orange pound cake?!
1 cup butter, softened
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
5 tablespoons orange juice
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
1 teaspoon orange extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups sour cream
ICING:
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 1/2 cups icing sugar
3 tablespoons orange juice
2 teaspoons grated orange peel
Preheat oven to 180 deg C or 350 F.
Mix well all dry ingredients in one bowl and all wet ingredients in another bowl.
Pour the wet into the dry, fold until all ingredients are well mix. Do not over mix, mixture should still be a little lumpy (like oatmeal texture).
Bake for 1 hour or until skewer comes out clean when inserted.
Cool inside baking tray for 10 minutes, before removing the cake from tray.
Blend all icing ingredients until a very smooth paste is formed and pour over the cooled pound cake.

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Gradually add sifted sugar and rind.

Gradually add sifted dry ingredients to butter mixture.
Add orange juice and combine thoroughly. Turn into buttered and floured 10-inch tube pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F.
Bake for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean and cake is golden brown.
Cool for 5 minutes. Turn onto wire rack and cool thoroughly.
Brush with marmelade or jam and top with orange peel.

lawanda w , this is not a pound cake but it is really a great orange cake! and very easy and cheap to make.
1 box Duncan Hines orange cake mix
1 3.5 ounce lemon instant lemon pudding mix
3/4 cup orange juice and 1tsp lemon extract
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs put all the ingredients in a mixing bowl mix slow for 2 min. with an electric mixer, scrape down bowl then mix 4 min. more in medium speed till well mixed, then deposit batter in a greased 10 inch bunte pan, and place in the center of a pre heated 325 degress oven and bake 50 to 60 min.
when cake is done ,remove from oven let cool on wire rack for 10 min. turn cake out on to cake plate.
while the cake is baking make a warm glaze with the following.
1/3 cup of orange juice
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 stick butter melt these togather in a small pan over med heat , after taking warm cake from pan rather than pouring the glaze over it brush about half on with a pastry brush, wait 10 min. and then brush the rest on. let cake cool before cutting.

8 ounces butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
3 large egg yolks, room temperature
3 medium oranges, zested
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
GLAZE
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
Garnish
2 ounces sliced almonds, finely chopped
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Grease 24 (1/2 cup) mini bundt pans (2 pans of 12 mini bundt tins).
In an electric mixer, fitted with paddle attachment, combine the butter and sugar.
Beat until smooth.
Add the eggs and yolks, 1 at a time, and continue to beat until incorporated.
Add the orange zest and vanilla.
Add the flour and salt, 1/2 cup at a time until the batter is smooth.
Spoon 1/3 cup of the batter into the prepared pans.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the top of the cake domes are slightly golden.
Remove from the oven and cool slightly.
Unmold the cakes onto wire racks.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the confectioner's sugar and orange juice together.
Whisk until smooth.
Place the wire racks over a baking sheet, lined with parchment paper.
Drizzle the glaze over each cake.
Sprinkle the top of each cake with the almonds.
Cool the cakes at room temperature.
Place the cakes on a serving platter and serve.
