Problems with making baby food in my blender?!

Question: It seems to create an air pocket around the blade at times.

I did trying to add more liquid andalso adjusting the speed and also mahsing it a spoon. I have also tried to take it out and shaking it. These solutions seem to help the blending process for about 5 seconds.

This happens with a thicker and thin (water added) textures both. But only sometimes, not on a consistent basis.

The food is supposed to flow and makes a 'whirlpool' and keep circulating the food. But tonight again, it wouldn't and the top food just sat there, even while starting out slow and increasing the speed.

What am I doing wrong? It is a pretty good blender.... one of those old OSCAR ones that still have the glass container... not a $30 Walmart one by any means. I try to make baby food in it and sometimes I get that whirlpool/funnel things going and it purees beautifully and sometimes it doesn't.

I made babyfood all of the time for my children. I would use an immersion blender (stick blender). The regular blender caused the problems that you speak of and the food processor would not work because I was working with too small quantities. The stick blender worked like a charm

This is stick blender

that happens to me "everytime".. I just sort of got used to it and just use my spatula every few min to push the food back down.. I just take it with a sigh and keep on going...
I think the real solution is investing in a good food processor.. Im saving for one... lol
