When I was pregnant and monitoring blood sugar, those packets of noodles made my blood sugar soar! I had to limit myself to a half packet, I'd break them before cooking and store the other half in a plastic bag or a jar. You may be addicted to that blood sugar surge.

Here's a few ideas for breaking carbohydrate addiction, not all may apply, hope some of them help you.

1. Fix the mood, not the food. Going outside for some fresh air, visiting a friend, holding a baby, playing with a pet, exercising, or enjoying a hobby can all distract you, lift your mood, keep you out of the kitchen, and possibly chase cravings away.

2. Control the damage. If chocolate is your weakness, keep it in the freezer: It's tougher to wolf down when it's frozen solid. Better yet, don't keep it in the house.

3. Fight food with food. When you're driven to eat salty carbs, try getting more calcium from dairy foods or other sources. Studies have found that people with low intakes of this mineral are more prone to salt cravings.

4. Give yourself a "fix" of your trigger food every day. If you deny yourself altogether, you may just end up wanting the food more. Eating a moderate amount daily should stave off cravings.

5. Take a two-week hiatus. For some people, when they cut out sugary foods such as chocolate and cookies altogether for two weeks, the cravings for those foods virtually disappear. Try it!

6. Drink water. Food cravings sometimes indicate a need for fluids. Drink a large glass of water, then wait 10 minutes or so and see if the craving passes.

think of something nasty when you eat them

Just be glad it is not booze or crack...

NA and not narcotics anonymous, or carb support haha. no seriously, the more you eat the more you want so just quit cold turkey and start eating other foods or cut back on noodles and eat a fraction of the portion

put a noodle in your nose!

Hey, you could have worse addictions. Let it play itself out. You'll be sick of noodles eventually. Enjoy your noodles without guilt. Have you tried Barilla Plus? Those are actually healthier for you, guilt free!

Can't help you...I love em too! They are quick, easy and inexpensive! Maybe they slip something into the flavouring...lol They are good though

It may be the salt your craving. Try switching to salted peanuts.

Oh those answers are so much fun! (UGH!)....Unless you are eating a good healthy bran or wheat noodles - you are doing nothing but taking in the bad carbs......they make simple sugars in the body..................and you know where that goes. Try broth!? Maybe you like the flavoring better than the noodles? check out your own tastes!

if your not putting on any weight dont worry about it.better that than booze or drugs.happy noodling

smash some potatoes add potato flour (never normal flour! because it will be horrible) and then fry on the pan wth onion

Switch to Booze

thanks for the 2 points

I feel your pain.

This is radical, but it works!

Go buy "spaghetti squash" at the store. It's named that way because it really is like spaghetti!

It's a huge, oblong yellow squash. Once prepared, you will be amazed how it satisfies your addiction, and it's a healthy vegetable, not a salty carb!

Prepare like so:

Spaghetti Squash I
"The flesh of spaghetti squash comes out in long strands, very much resembling the noodles for which it is named. In this recipe, the 'noodles' are tossed with vegetables and feta cheese. You can substitute different vegetables, but be sure to use ones that have contrasting colors."

INGREDIENTS
1 spaghetti squash, halved lengthwise and seeded
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups chopped tomatoes
3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
3 tablespoons sliced black olives
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.

Place spaghetti squash cut sides down on the prepared baking sheet, and bake 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a sharp knife can be inserted with only a little resistance.

Remove squash from oven, and set aside to cool enough to be easily handled.

Meanwhile, heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Saute onion in oil until tender.

Add garlic, and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.

Stir in the tomatoes, and cook only until tomatoes are warm.

Use a large spoon to scoop the stringy pulp from the squash, and place in a medium bowl.

Toss with the sauteed vegetables, feta cheese, olives, and basil. Serve warm.
