These potatoes are not the ones you will want with just using milk and butter. Cream may work. This is how I fix them, and everyone comments on them. I boil the potatoes with a little salt in the water, then drain them. I put in a good amount of butter, and evaporated milk. The tiny can is all you will need, and you will only use about half of that if you are making a pan for 5 or more. Add the butter first, and then pour in some milk. I use an electric mixer instead of a potato masher. When the consistency is thick, but creamy is when you have added enough milk. Add salt and pepper to taste. Great mashed potatoes! Sometimes I will even add sour cream or Ranch dressing. It is good also. If I want more to it, I will add onions sauteed in butter and sprinkle with bacon pieces and shredded cheddar cheese. I love to cook.

I think the recipe you are looking for is corn pudding. Here is the recipe for that. Be sure to drain the whole kernel corn very well so you do not have clumps. This is the easy one, but it is good:

INGREDIENTS
1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 (15 ounce) can cream style corn
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 (8.5 ounce) package dry cornbread mix

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 2 quart casserole dish.
In a medium bowl, mix together the whole kernel corn, cream style corn, margarine, sour cream, and corn bread mix. Pour into the prepared casserole dish.
Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Mix in milk or cream, that will give you the creamy texture. You do it by eye, just add it bit by bit to get he texture you want. And for added flavor, try adding sour cream, chives, bacon, cheese, salt & pepper, chili powder, or whatever else you like.

These are general and need to be adjusted for the amount of people in your family Mashed potato, peel and cube potato's. Boil until tender, drain. Place in mixing bowl, and add about 1/4 cup milk, and 1/2 stick BUTTER. mash until it gets to desired consistency, add more milk or butter as needed.
I believe you are talking about scalloped corn. pour in a baking dish one can of cream style corn, break up saltine crackers and mix together. add a little sour cream, and mix thoroughly. bake in oven at 350 for 1/2 hour or until done. You can also do this in a microwave.

After you boil your potatoes, I put them in a mixing bowl, but you can use a hand masher too. I put in milk (or you can use cream if you want it richer tasting) and some butter. You can just add a little at a time and just mix until you have the consistancy to your liking. If you want, you can add some herbs if you would like a bit of different flavoring like garlic powder, dill or chives. Again it is a taste sort of thing , so add a little and then taste until you feel it is just right:)

Now, about the corn . . . sounds like what you're looking for is "corn pudding". But in my family we have another recipe that I think kicks corn puddings butt! :-) We call it Scalloped Corn. Here it is:
scramble 4 eggs slightly. Add 2 can of creamed corn and 1/2 c. of evaporated milk. Add 2 Tbsp each of flour and sugar and 1/2 a stick of melted butter or margarine. Bake at 325 degrees for "about" an hour. (just till it is set up in the middle). I think it is SERIOUSLY GOOD!

Cornbread? Is that it? I think if I were making cornbread for the first time I'd use the cornbread that comes in a box. It's in your supermarket near the bread flour and corn meal and baking soda., etc.,stuff.
Mashed potatoes. Just peel and remove any bad spots on about 4 fist sized potatoes and put in enough water to cover. Cut the potatoes into uniform pieces about the size of an egg. Boil them til they're done enough you can pierce them with a fork easily.
Pour off the water. Put in about a half a stick of butter or margarine. Mash with a masher or mixer while pouring in a little milk occasionly. When the potatoes, come to a smooth texture they're done. enjoy!

CORN BREAD:
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 c. flour (all-purpose)
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening (+2 tbsp.)
DRESSING:
Cornbread
B read crumbs
Turkey neck
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. celery, chopped
1/2 c. onion, chopped
2 eggs, slightly beaten
Corn Bread: Heat oven to 425 degrees. While mixing ingredients, heat iron skillet in oven with 2 tablespoons shortening in the skillet. Sift together dry ingredients into bowl, then add egg, milk, shortening. Beat until smooth but don't overbeat (about 1 minute). Pour batter into hot skillet. Bake 20-25 minutes at 425 degrees.
Dressing: Crumble corn bread into large bowl, add fresh or dry bread crumbs (about 5-6 slices of bread). Cook neck until tender (pressure cooker for 20 minutes), save broth. Cut up meat and add to the bread.
Melt butter with a little water in skillet. Saute celery and onions. Add seasoning mix to the sauteed onions and celery. Add mixture to the bread. Stir in the eggs. Add broth (and water if necessary) to make dressing moist. It should be the consistency of oatmeal. Cook dressing as stuffing or in a baking dish (or both). Bake at 350 degrees, 20-30 minutes.

MASHED POTATOES
8-10 medium size red potatoes
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/3 cup milk (about)
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
salt and pepper, to taste
Wash potatoes. Cut, unpeeled and boil until tender.
With an electric mixer on medium speed, mash potatoes. Do not overbeat. Add ingredients, beating until creamy. Add more milk if needed to get the correct consistency.

CORN BREAD 2 CUPS CORN MILL MIX 1 EGG 1HALFCUP BUTTER MILK 1.5 CUP OF LARD MIX IN A LARGE BOWL TILL ITS THIN POUR INTO A CAST IRON PAN AN BAKE 30 MINS.PELL THE PATATOES AN CUT INTO SMALL PIECES AN BOIL FOR ABOUT 20 MINS DRIAN ABOUT 3 SPOONS OF BUTTER AN SMALL AMOUT MILK AN BREAK UP THE PATOTES
