Can I brown a potroast in a disposable aluminum pan?!
Answers: on top of the stove b4 I put it in the oven?
If you must brown your roast in the aluminum pan do it in the oven at a high temp., say 500 for 15 min. Turn down to 325, and finish.
No! Your pan will melt on the stove. Those disposable pans are very flimsy and cannot stand up to direct heat.
No....it is not meant for the stove top. Brown the roast in a frying pan first.
NO NO NO....you'll have the biggest mess ever & you'll ruin your roast. NO NO NO.
no...pan is not made for top of stove cooking
will burn up
Brown the roast in a fry pan on top of the stove, then move it to the disposable pan to put in the oven. I never pre-brown roast, I just throw in the oven, it gets brown enough for my taste. Put a cookie sheet under the disposable pan, that way it's easier and safer to remove from the oven when done.
