A good but easy recipe? for a couple that differs on food...?!
Answers: My husband will be home for Christmas. He is in the army. He is a meat and meat kinda guy while I am a veggies kinda gal. He doesnt really eat veggies unless they are in stirfry or veggie soup. I know how to make those.. And I dont want more recipes on that please. Theres only one recipe to stirfry and veggie soup he will eat anyways. So is there anything that I can cook that him and his army friends will love. And If its just for a small ( me and him) meal I can only cook enough for two.. I need to make sure it can go from 2-10 ppl.. But only what I want to cook. And also not have alot of veggie taste.. But enough for me to be happy. I can eat meat I do like it. But I love veggies... Anyone who has some good recipes. And I have looked at sites. I just want some recipes from ppl who have tried them not a site please. Thanks.
I think a perfect solution for you is to cook up a big (or small) pot roast. You add potatoes, carrots and then some veggie sides for you (and for him or the group to try)
Zucchini pancakes is a delicious side that no one would ever know had zucchini in it. Grate a couple of med zucchini, grate 1/4 onion add salt and pepper, some garlic powder, some grated cheese 1/3-1/2 c Bisquick and 1/2 c milk. Mix until the consistancy is like pancakes. You can add whole kernal corn to this also which is wonderful. Fry up on griddle, and enjoy.
A delicious green salad is another way to go --plain for him and pile on the veggies in your salad bowl!
Coleslaw and ribs and quartered potatoes are another idea.
There are a ton of things out there. Look at some photos and get the ideas clicking. Hope it helps!
Just do a thankgiving spread, with turkey ,stuffing, keep it down to corn, potatoes, cranberry sauce. etc..Gravy basic and can fed plenty. Get a 12 lb turkey.
Amish Yumazuti is so good i believe you will both like it.
INGREDIENTS
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
3/4 cup chopped celery
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed, diced tomatoes
1 (12 ounce) package uncooked egg noodles
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place noodles in a pot of lightly salted boiling water. Cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Cook ground beef, onion, celery and garlic in a skillet over medium heat until meat is evenly browned. Drain off excess grease. (You can add a can of corn drained if you want.)
Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place half of the cooked noodles in the bottom of the dish. Cover them with half of the meat mixture, then half of the tomatoes. Spoon half of the cream of chicken soup over the tomatoes, then sprinkle half of the shredded cheese. Repeat layers, ending with cheese on the top.
Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until cheese is browned and bubbly. Let stand for 10 minutes to set before serving.
