My wife wants a le creuset sauscepan set for christmas, are they worth the money?!
I sell them. They are WONDERFUL.
If you can find an outlet location, you will pay about 35 % less than a williams sonoma location.. and that's just at sticker price. The outlets ALWAYS have sales, and if you're looking for saucepans, you can probably create a "set" out of them and get a deeper discount. They also take phone orders and we outlets are known for our customer service. They'll treat you right..just tell them what you're looking for. Usually during the holidays, if you spend a certain amount of money.. you get free shipping.. so why not? Just wrap the box and you're set!
Just remember...color is key.. if your wife specifically wants a certain color, don't deviate from that.. these pans LITERALLY have a 101 year warrantee... so she'll have them forever.
feel free to message me if you need any more help.. I'm top seller at my location, and I have and use a full set myself. I can tell you anything you need to know, especially how to get the best deal.
That goes for everyone else here, too! :)

it shouldnt matter, if thats what she wants and gets then she will be happy!!
even if they fall apart after a day or so she will still be happy you listened!
its win win for you
how can you put a price on smile for so cheap
They are very good, but really only for professional type cooks you can get some good enamel pans for a lot less...but I do have some smaller ones and they do last for years.....so usual decision...do you buy something that lasts and is cheap or something that is expensive but lasts a long time.....they are very very expensive.
They are worth the money and will last you a lifetime ....... they are expensive but is she worth it ??? If you like her cooking go for it ......... if you don't get the cheap stuff and it won't make any difference xx
I don't think so, I use professional stainless steel pans, Half the price and just as good
Most people I know say they are.
I find them rather heavy, but they do look good and they do last.
they are good for slow cooking they hold the heat well but they are heavy and will chip if dropped
Yes worth every penny, but are you sure she wants saucepans for Christmas? I would be upset if I got saucepans for Christmas. Its a time for personal presents not hosehold goods.
yes i have had 3 sets of 5 during the last 40 years. i love them. try e-bay, there are lots on the site , but many bidders. they are fine if one;- you dont drop them on a hard floor. and two[- if you dont burn anything badly in them.
i dropped one and split the outer metal casing (the coloured bit) but still used it for many years afterwards. you can buy them seperately, tureens and different dishes. shop around. happy buying.
I would do some research by looking up that cookware specifically. But to be honest, if it's something that your wife has actually asked for... why question her choice? Get it for her, and trust she knows something about what she's asking for. So many people complain their mates are hard to buy for. You've got it made.... she communicated what she wants!
yes
YES!! I love mine!
Yes they are - I don't know about the saucepans, but the Le Crueset lidded casserole dishes (that can go on the hob and in the oven) are brilliant and will last for ever.
I use mine for roasting and slow cooking and everything tastes better when cooked in them. They're very expensive - tip: I've always bought mine after xmas when the sales are on as a good one will set you back around £80.
I bought the whole stainless steel set for my wife (well...... more for me!) some 8 years ago and never regretted it!
The only thing to remember is that the S/S pans should never be used on full heat and I never use them for fry-ups!
Le creuset is great for a stewpot and casserole. I have a number of them in my collection. For a frypan or a saucier though, you can't beat AllClad. Don't have to get fancy, the MC2 line is nearly perfect. If you are serious about cooking, both of these brands are well worth the premium price.
well i have heard they are good i have a small roasting dish of theirs its nice but not sure they are worth it , it depends on if she 's a cook or not , i guess if thats what she actually wants then you ll be on to a winner , that said if my other half bought me pans for christmas i think id wrap them round his neck...good luck what ever you decide
I hope that your wife has strong wrists They are outrageously heavy and far too expensive. There are far better kitchenware items on the market costing far less.
as long as she's got muscles like Tyson - they're really heavy!
They last forever and look good but they are very heavy.
Yes, they are worth the money, brilliant for cooking in and they last a long time, they are also very heavy.
Yes, I think they are. You'll never need to buy her another set, but tell her not to drop 'em on your glass hob if you've got one. That's expensive too!
Anyway, aren't you the lucky one. A wife who wants saucepans for Christmas!!! Give her a full set...
The only con is the weight but I guess that's why they cook so well. The dutch ovens are the best for stews and long cooking recipes. As for saucepans I think you could do quite well with the cheaper alternatives. See if she would like a dutch oven instead cause that's really worth the price. You have a very lucky wife.
hell yea after my family my pans are getting saved from the burning house
Yes, if they are looked after properly they last for years, plus they look good hanging on the kitchen rack.
for general all purpose cooking i prefer all clad. i have their sauce pans, frying pans, and saute pans. However, I absolutely adore my le creuset 8" non-stick omelet pan, and my 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 quart dutch ovens. Those are the only three pans I have from Le Creuset. They are great because you can start something on the stove top and then transfer to the oven.
i definately recommend le creuset, but I am not a big fan of buying things in sets. I prefer to build my own inventory of pots and pans based on what I use the most. You can get more bang for your buck if you buy a better quality pan that you use every day, then a set where you only use 3 of the 9 piece.
Yes, definitely, I would get them if I could afford them. A good investment
A friend of mine has just brought some an she absolutely loves them. She and her husband do a lot of entertaining and she said that they well worth what they paid for them
There are wonderful pans, and I would love to have a set, but I cant use then as they are so heavy. I have a problem with my wrist and once they have food in them I just dont have the strength to lift them.
I don't know what they are!
But what the wifw wants the wife must have!!!!
buy her some decent pans
