Is it normal for white stuff to come out of salmon when you fry it?!
Answers: ive never pan fried salmon before, but i am right now and there is a ton of white goop coming out of it. is it just fat or is there something wrong with the meat (its been sitting in my freezer for 2-3 months)
Yes, it's common. Don't worry.
I think it's just the fat.
That will happen when you cook most white meat. I get that when i cook pork, or even turkey burgers. it is the fat escaping! :) It's totally normal and if it grosses you out, you can just scrape it off. But it's normal! Salmon=yum!
yes, dont worry. it's the fat of the fish. and katy, fish isn't meat.
yep it's normal.
It's a combination of fat and dirt, if that's what you call it.
What you could have done was to scrap the meat, in the direction of the flow. Just the tiniest bit. As if you were shaving a chin.
Cleans up most of the rubbish that the fish was expose to
Yea it's normal don't worry about it meathead. MM.. u got me hungry:P
I'm not sure what the white stuff is - most people call it fat, but I'm not sure if it is. Seems like it's closer to a protein.
In any case, this is normal - but usually only happens when salmon is fully cooked. It's completely edible.
That's normal. Especially if the fish has been in the freezer for a while it will have more water crystals in it that melt and cook with the juices during heating. It's not fat, it's the blood/juices solidifying.
yes,it's only protien & fat.
