So whats cheaper in your opinion?!
Answers: To make a list of what you are going to cook before you go to the grocery store and buy just those ingredients OR Just go to the grocery store and pick stuff up and think about dinner options when your at home? What do you think is cheaper?
If I don't bring a list with me, I run around aimlessly in a grocery store. I'm like a misguided missile, buying everything that takes my fancy. And, yes, that costs me dearly! Write a list from left to right, indicating the placement of that product in the store. Don't forget to check off each item once they're in your shopping cart. Then get out immediately, before your sweet tooth takes over!
from personal experience, i went to the store with a list of the EXACT things i needed for every meal for about a week and a half. I spent $100 more than when i went with a list of five things i COULD NOT FORGET.
and the food from the trip with out a long list lasted a lot longer and i got a lot more left overs out of it.
only down fall is that sometimes a recipe will call for something very specific and i wont have it on hand.
Making the list and sticking to it. Shopping when your hungry you always get more stuff or more expensive stuff than what would have been on the list.
its cheeper to plan your meals and then buy the stuff you need. this means you wont buy anything you dont need. i dont do that, so my pantry is full of bits
Get a sales flyer from the local grocery store. Find what's on sale and plan your meals around that. For example, if chicken is on sale, plan meals for baked chicken, chicken and gravy, stir-fry chicken and vegetables, etc.
First make out a menu at home and then Always make a list and don't pick up anything extra. You'll have money in your pocket if you will train yourself to follow these rules (but don't let anyone know what you are doing.....it's a secret).
I say the first option, it prevents impulse buys, and many other things, but one thing that makes shopping cheaper, is getting some basic ingredients, that easily make a meal, such as potatoes, chicken breasts, and so on.
I say planning out meals beforehand is cheaper, but that's only my opinion.
I have no figured why there is not a cook on food channel instead od these new girls who can cook on a good budget.Like rachel ray uses 100 things. We do not all have an entire food closet with spices etc. Some spices are like 8 to 10 bucks. How often will you use it?
seems a bit much to me.
I say a list is cheaper.I have trouble with kids nto wanting something i cooked.I have one who will eat anything 1 who eats nothing.
I give UP!
Shopping list every time otherwise you will buy a lot of stuff you don't really need.
A list and a sale go hand in hand. The thing is to stick to the list....Not I said me.
