How do you make a really big cookie?!

Question: I've seen it done, and I want to do it for my guy friend for Christmas. I guess the cookie is chocolate chip and about 9 inches and usually is frosted around the outside, so it's kind of like a cake...

But how do you effectively make a huge cookie?

those cookie cakes are not cheap, so i just made one on my own for the first time. i bought a tub of Nestle's cookie dough and it had the recipe on the outside container. You basically spray a circular cooking dish, push about 2 cups of the cookie dough into the bottom, and bake at 350 for about 8 minutes. let it cool, then decorate it with icing!
Hope this helps!

Seems pretty easy.

You can buy a disposable aluminum pizza pan at the store, it will have sides. Then spray it with pam, and spread your cookie dough into it. When it's done allow it to cool completely, then turn it out onto a rack then flip back over into a serving platter, decorate as desired.

You pretty much want to make a pan cookie. It's simple as long as you have the pan, but you can even do it without the pan. The pan I'm referring to is a jelly roll pan. It's rectangle in shape and the sides come up about 1/2 inch. The high sides prevent the cookie from spreading out too thin on the ends, but you can still form a large cookie without the pan by making sure it's an even thickness throughout the dough on the pan. The Tollhouse chocolate chip package has the cooking time for pan cookies. I usually check the cookie about 5 minutes before the suggested time so I don't overcook it.

I found a recipe on crisco.com with a cookie that you can make in a 13x9 pan.
