Can I add frozen whole cranberries to my muffin mix?!
I know from making sauce that the berries have to pop to absorb sugar and become tasty.
Will the bake time in the oven be long enough for them to sweeten?
And if so, my recipe makes 2 dozen muffins. How much cranberry should I add?
Thanks for any advice.
Answers: I'm making oatmeal muffins, and thinking about adding some cranberries from my freezer.

they won't, as you say, have enough time to "pop and sweeten". Personally, I like those little bursts of tartness. For a muffin recipe making 24 muffins, I would add about 2 cups, and straight from the freezer is fine
why not
They may not pop, but they'll still be delicious. I'd add 2 cups unless you're also adding nuts. Then I'd use a cup of each. Oatmeal muffins are so good and the cranberries and/or nuts will go well with the oatmeal.
Does your recipe recommend putting a few oatmeal flakes on the top before baking? I always do - it not only looks nice, but then you know what type of muffin you're getting if you have more than one type.
I WOULD SOAK THEM IN JUICE,WITH ADDED SUGAR NAMASTE
