Who is your favorite Food Network cook/chef, and why?!
Answers: Would I crush you to say it is Rachel Ray?
My favorite Food Network show is Everyday Italian because she makes wonderful food and her food is healthy and looks delicious.
My favorite is Paula Deen. She loves food and loves to cook, and I think she is an inspiration, as well as just an amazing cook. When Paula says its good, you know its good.
My vote is for Paula
Alton Brown for somethings, but I gotta say Paula Dean what she makes is fairly simple to duplicate and she is pretty funny
MY VOTE GOES WITH RACHEL RAY BUT IN TERMS OF SHOWS I LIKE TO WATCH UNWRAPPED
Good Eats. He is such a funny fellow and goes into all the ins and outs of cooking, and you can relate to him.
My mom LOVES Atlon Brown, she has me watching him
too. He is so funny and sassy, I like the detail he goes
into.
I like Bobbie Flay he makes everything look so good.
I have used a few Rachel Ray recipes and they were
very good and easy.
We watch Iron Chef that is so much fun to watch.
dont have a fav. chef, but like the shows: iron chef, thrown down w/bobby flay, diners, drive ins and dives
dont like rachel ray, but watch the show
its a toss up between 3:
tyler florence
giada di laurentis
jamie oliver
well I have to say Alton Brown he is the best!!!!! on his show Good Eats its not just that he teaches u how to make the dish or whatever he cooks he gives u facts and information about the ingredients or wat u should do or not do with it and it is also very entertaining and very funny!!!!!! and all his dishes look good :)
Alton Brown. Not only have I had success with everything of his that I've made, but he explains things. He doesn't just say "make sure your bowl is very clean before making the meringue", he actually takes a couple minutes to explain why the smallest drop of oil or fat will destroy a meringue. He doesn't just say, "don't over cook your meat or it will be tough," he explains what happens chemically in meat while it cooks and thus why it gets tough.
Knowing the technical reasons for why things work the way they do gives me a better understanding so if I have to alter a recipe, I know how. If I want to completely rework a recipe into something else, I know how. He teaches you how to cook, not how to follow directions mindlessly.
not neccessarily in the correct order...iron chef....food network challenge,...robert irvine(dinner impossible), Rachel Ray, unwrapped, diners, driveins and dives(guy fietti), ace of cakes, emril (so sad his show is now leaving the air on 121107)
I like in no particular order:
alton,emeril,rachel,sandra,tyler,conte...
paula,Iron chef,2 fat ladys,and 1 naked chef.
My very fave chefs I would like to see on FN would be: Justin Wilson,Jasper White,Julia Childs, and Chef paul. I know I have missed a lot of people. Can I tell you about a lady that took the time in my life to show us all how to cook? It is Conny B Hope. and her beloved side kick estelle who pioneered the way out of plain jane daytime local tv to the big time. To Conny B. Hope! Cheers
Barefoot Contessa 'cause everything is fully leaded! (meaning she uses the good stuff like butter and bacon that makes things taste so good!) and she makes huge quantities, which I like to do for entertaining and for leftovers.
I also like Michael Chiarello and Alton Brown.
Alton Brown
AB cuz he's he's so darn smart and really funny. Paula cuz she just LOVES what she does and she is such a sweetheart. Sara Moulton cuz she does really fancy dishes(she is executive chef of Gormet Mag.) but shows how exactly. Ingred Hoffman (Simply Delicioso) cuz she is really fun and knows what she's doing. Giada cuz she's amazing at her Italian foods and it all looks so good. Tyler Florence cuz he's yummy to watch if you know what I mean. Guy because I love Diners Driveins and Dives. And Rachael I guess because her food looks really good. But she's so annoying, she talks nonstop- never breaths. And she has way too many shows now. I mean, she has her own talk show. What's up with that?
My 2 favorites are Paula Deen and Rachael Ray.
Paula cooks the old Southern way with lots of butter.
Rachael cooks the fast way. Both are wonderful!
I have to say "Good Eats". I love that show to death.
Sorry I just can't pick a fav.... I am a food network junkie and I like them all!!!!!
Alton is good, though sometimes I do wish he would do more cooking instead of talking. I like Tyler Florence because he makes things that everyday cooks make. I make his Shepherd's Pie and it's awesome. I've also made an appetizer from Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) and my family loved it. She also makes things easy to cook. I like Giada, but don't like a lot of the ingredients she uses, but I do make one of her dishes with pasta, italian sausage and broccoli rabe in it. I've made a few of Emeril's dishes over the years, but haven't made any recently. His white cheddar soup was really good. I like Paula Deen, but she uses way too much fat in her recipes. I'm sorry to say I don't like Rachael Ray's cooking. While I'd consider making some, the majority of the time she throws a bunch of stuff together that just doesn't look appetizing. You can definitely tell the difference from her 'cooking' compared to the real chefs on Food Network.
rachel ray she is funny and hot
I recently seen an episode with ingrid hoffman. She is soooo HOT.
She cooked some good stuff but it had ALOT of cilantro.
When I see that my brain automagically substitutes parsely in instead :)
I also like paula dean. Her recipes are easy and you can get the ingredients readily at the store. More like mom would cook.
I also like the new guy, Guy (whats his name). He cooks with alot of asian influence and that is right up my alley.
Giada de laurentis is hot, but her mother is HOTTER. Giada kinda says goofy things on camera. I don't know why they say all that silly stuff like "I like the way the lettuce squeeks underneath my knife when I chop it". Very irritational.
