How can i make a cake without an oven???!

Question: my oven is broken...

Answers: my oven is broken...

I once lived in a house & couldn't afford to have the propane gas connected for the stove a couple of months. I used my toaster oven to bake cupcakes (6 cup pans fit exactly) and even made a three layer cake using the toaster tray and very small amounts of batter. When the three layers were done, I stacked them up with icing between and no one knew it hadn't been planned that way!

I cut pizza up into piecies and baked them, I baked pork chops, chicken, and tater tots! Anything I could bake in my regular could be baked in the toaster oven, but in smaller sizes!!

Don't panic, get creative!!

microwave (special recipe)

buy one at a bakery
I know they have those microwave brownies, maybe they have cakes. Otherwise I don't think you can.

thanks for the site Beth always good to have a back up.

I found a web page dedicated to the no bake cake. Hope it is helpful.

Ask someone you know if you can borrow their oven for an hour...Thats what i had to do when my oven broke and i had a birthday cake to make...I was tempted to make it in the toaster oven, since mine had a temp setting and such, but i didn't bother trying....
otherwise, you could try to do a no bake cheesecake from the box and then get some fruit and make some chocolate ganache and decorate it up pretty...
Or go to a bakery and just ask for a cake, no frosting and such and then decorate it yourself...

There are cake mixes made especially for microwaves. They are usually smaller, but they do work. Look for them in your local grocery store down the cake aisle.

u can always bake a cake without oven i've done it b4 and the cake came out just as fine all u need to do is to heat a pot over ur stove if u've got one or electric cooker when the whole mixture of the cake is ready and u pour into the pan and place into the pot the only disadvantage is that it takes a little longer time to bake i'm sure this is one of the best ways to bake cake without oven or better still as a nigerian i heat up some dry sand in a pot to some really hot extent and u place the pan in the sand it come out just as fine

If you've got a pot that's heavy enough (like a cast iron stew pot or dutch oven), it's possible to bake a cake on the stovetop. It's tricky, though, to maintain the perfect temperature to bake the cake through without burning the bottom.

You can borrow my oven. Its brand new and cooks like a dream :)

No baking required : Buy one at the bakery. . . .problem solved. . .

They have micro wave cakes now adays, but they are just singles..... they are good though, you can find them in your cake isle at the grocery store....
