Answers: each of my 3 kids have asked that question today. I just answer 'Food'.

I get that question all the time!

I turn it around and ask them....
"What do you want tonight? I am taking orders and then I will decide what sounds the yummiest."

Sometimes we have "whatever night." Where we will do a simple meal together and they pick whatever they want and it has to be easy to make for them or me. We all just get in there and help each other out and it involves them in the preparing (a meal) process and they love it. Some of our "whatever night" foods include: sandwich & chips, leftover pizza with ranch, soup & crackers, spaghettios, mac & cheese, kielbasa (sliced & sauteed in butter) - takes 5 minutes and it's great with baked beans, egg sandwich (scrambled egg on toast with mayo & sometimes cheese).

One of my friends has "ice cream night" with her kids once a month. I tried that with mine just for fun and they all got an ice cream and then ordered chicken nugget meals and cheeseburger meals. Mine just ate dessert then dinner instead of the traditional way we normally eat. Anyway, this continues to be a great memory for my kiddos ;o)

Dinner is my favorite time of the entire day, because I know that we will all be together at the table whether they like what we're having or not. So for me, my answer boils down to "FAMILY TIME."
