What wine works well with western watermellon?!

Question: Pairing fruit with wine is a daring move. Generally, I would say that you should think about the primary flavor of the fruit. Since watermelon is very sweet, you should complement it with a very sweet wine (this is not always that case with fruits that are acidic).

I would recommend an ice wine. Ice wines are made of old harvest grapes...meaning that they are picked right before the frost.
While ice wines are generally expensive, they are delicious (and bit on the "thicker" side)--if this is out of your budget a late harvest Riesling will do as well.

Cheers!
