Is it possible to make alfredo sauce with milk (not cream) and no cheese?!

Question: You're describing a basic white sauce, or roux, if you leave out cream and cheese. This is commonly called a Bechamel Sauce -- "the mother sauce" which is the base of most creamy sauces. If you do not add parmesan or other dry cheese, it's not an Alfredo Sauce, but if it's just a creamy sauce you're going for, perhaps for someone who doesn't like parmesan, try making Bechamel, and add seasonings to taste. Garlic, for instance, or perhaps sage.

Alfredo sauce is a cream and cheese sauce. The cheese is the ingredient that makes alfredo sauce, alfredo sauce. Without the cream and cheese it is just a white sauce. Still a sauce, but not alfredo sauce.

Well, at that point, it would just be milk, butter and flour. It won't have much taste to it, but you can do whatever you like.

Yes, and even skim with powdered milk in it to give it more body. WWWWWAAAAYYYYYY healthier for you.

yeah its called Mac n Cheese

Not really, but you can try to thicken it up with bread crums. that actually should work !!! good luck.

cream is a thickening agent along with the cheese.. w/out them you will have a 'watery' concoction. i would not suggest that you do it.

It would be a simple white sauce with no cheese. the Cheese makes it Alfredo.

no
