Cookie recipe called Mounds Candy?!


Question: The recipe includes mashed potatoes, coconut, and is dipped in chocolate. Does not need to be baked. I believe Paula Deen made these cookies.

Mounds Mashed Potato Candy

4 cups coconut
3/4 cup cooked, cold mashed potatoes
1 lb. powdered sugar
6 oz. chocolate chips

Mix the first 3 ingredients together. Shape into balls the size of a walnut. Let dry on wax paper. Melt chips on low heat with a double boiler. Dip balls into chocolate.

MOUNDS CANDY

2 c. shredded coconut
1/2 c. mashed potatoes (cold)
1 tbsp. soft butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate

Mix potatoes and sugar. Add soft butter, coconut, vanilla and salt. Blend well. Place in greased 9 inch pan and flatten to about an inch thick. Melt chocolate, pour and smooth over candy. Cool well, cut into squares.

PETERS PAUL MOUNDS CANDY

3/4 c. mashed potatoes, unsalted and cooled
4 c. powdered sugar
1 (14 oz.) coconut
1 bag milk chocolate chips
3/4 stick Paraffin

Mix potatoes, sugar, and coconut together. Shape into small candy bar shapes. Place on a cookie sheet and put in freezer for 2 hours or overnight. Remove from freezer, and dip into chips and paraffin, which has been melted in top of double boiler. Leave chocolate/paraffin mixture over heat until through dipping candy. Store in refrigerator.
