Does anyone have any absolutely amazing holiday sugar cookie recipes? (any favorite recipes?)?!

Question: It's kind of long, but this has been a family favorite for years. They're good plain but even better with powdered sugar icing.

Plain Rolled Cookies
1 cup shortening 2 cups sugar
3 eggs 4-4 1/2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. milk 1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening, add vanilla, than add sifted sugar and salt gradually, beat until light and creamy. Combine well beaten egg with shortening and sugar. Add B.P. and spices to 2 cups flour and sift 3 times. Then add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk to fat and sugar mixture. Beat thoroughly after each addition. Add remaining flour. Chill 2 hours before using. Roll out a small portion at a time to 1/8 inch in thickness. Cut bake on slightly greased cookie sheet 10-12 minutes in 325 oven. Bake lower rack the first 5 minutes and on the upper rack the last 5 minutes to brown. (I’ve never done that, and they’ve turned out fine.)

TAKE SOME HALF AND HALF AND MIX IT WITH SUGAR AND PUT IN IN THE MICROWAVE UNTIL IT IS HARD AND KRISPY, CHIP OFF THE FLAKES AND EAT THEM , YUMMY!

No, I don't, but they are my favorites, along with Russian Teacakes.

OHMYGOSH.
Yesterday i was watching Sandra Lee on TV.
She was making this sugar cookie thing that was shaped into like candy canes. She took half the dough and added red food coloring to it and took the other half and added peppermint extract to it and she made little candy cane shapes...they were so effin cute!
=)
