How do i make my brownies...?!
please help.
Answers: The brownie mix I am using is betty crocker fudge brownie mix. and everytime i make it, they always turn out dry. The box calls for 1/4 cup water, 2/3 cup oil, and 2 eggs. is there anything that i could add to the mix so that is is moist and chewy?
please help.
decrease your baking time a little bit - I have made these and they are usually very moist.
Brownies:
1 1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
2 c.
sugar
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt and walnuts. Mix well. Set aside.
In large bowl, combine eggs, sugar, butter and vanilla. Beat with wooden spoon until smooth. Stir in dry ingredients; mix well. Spread batter evenly in 13 X 9 inch pan.
Bake in 350oF oven for about 25 minutes. Do not overbake. Brownies are ready when edges are just set and center is still soft.
Cool on wire rack.
take them out of the oven at least five minutes before the box tells you to
They ALWAYS over estimate cooking time
You are using the recipe for "cake like" brownies. Look at the directions again. It should say 1/4 cup oil, 2 tablespoons water and 1 egg. You can decrease the bake time by a few minutes if you want.
FYI...if you can find Ghirardelli brand brownie mix in your area I highly recommend it. It's the only brownie mix I buy now.
What size eggs are you using? I think it calls for Large eggs.
If you have been using medium eggs that could be the problem, if you are using large then try adding a teaspoon of applesauce to the mix;to make them more moist.
I substitute the water and use milk. I also only a little bit of oil maybe 2 tablespoons.
try adding either another whole egg, or 2 egg yolks. Also be sure that you aren't baking them for too long
