Cheesy potato soup recipe?!
Answers: Can use instant potatoes instead of real potatoes to make cheesy potato soup? Anyone know any good recipes??
instant will work , i would cook with leeks, garlic, onions some broccoli, when those items are cooked i would turn stove off, and put the instant mix and cheese, stir it , and cover it and let the flavors blend for about an hour and then serve....you could also add some ham cubes in it and then you can call it cheesy broccoli , potato and ham soup. it tastes great
Why use fake when real are cheap?
Cut up peeled potatoes & a couple of onions. Put in large pot . Add water or chicken stock to just under top of vegs.
Simmer about 40 min. or 'til very tender. Puree. Add some cream or milk, white pepper, & grated cheese. I add parmesan & tasty. Salt if needed, powdered chicken or veg stock if wanted. Same recipe for pumpkin soup, minus cheese, but add a couple of potatoes for thickening.
Just remember with soups, You want them thick cause you can always thin them with stock, water, milk, cream.
It is harder to thicken afterwards, than thin them. ENJOY!
