What kind of Beef for Pot Roast?!

Question: I am going to make pot roast in a 5 quart crock pot. What kind of meat do I pick up at the grocery store and how many pounds of it should I pick for a 5 quart pot? Also what's the difference between regular Pot Roast and Yankee Pot Roast?

Chuck turns out well in the crock pot, but sometimes all the chuck roasts at my grocery have too much fat, so just look them over and choose according to what looks nice and fits your wallet. Try to find one with a bit of fat marble and a bit of other fat, but not too much - 1/4 fat is too much - try for mostly meat.

I like to use a nice thick chuck roast for pot roast. You can also use a brisket. Get yourself a 4-5 lb for that size pot.

definately a nice thick chuck roast so tender when it is done and about 4 to 5 pounds.

I use a blade roast or rump roast. Usually about 3-5 lbs for a 5 qt slow cooker.

I cook a lot of brisket in my crock pot,it's Delicious and almost falls apart.
Your measurements are American,I'm in the UK,so our measurements are different,so sorry I cant give a quantity to use,and I don't know the difference between a pot roast and a Yankee pot roast.
I'm not much help to you at all, sorry.
