Different kind of meat to serve for Christmas dinner?!

Question: I normally serve a grilled salmon fillet and a ham. But this year, my sister is having everyone down for a Christmas party on the 22nd, and she's serving . . . poached salmon and ham!
So, HELP. I need suggestions for alternative fish and meat main dishes. I am stumped on the fish, because salmon is such a nice size fillet and everyone loves it.
But the same people are going to her party as will be coming to my house on Christmas day. I would like something that doesn't require a lot of work.

For meat consider a crown roast of pork instead of ham-order now from a local meat market or see if local grocery stores will have it. As for the salmon-consider a platter of shrimp and crab claws. Or if your family really likes the salmon, make it a second time-it's a favorite for your family anyway and having it twice in a week would be great too.

PRIME RIB! IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SUPPER AT MY HOUSE!

what about cod and swedish meatballs

Roast lamb with roast potatoes with all the trimmings.

My husband is so very picky and wont eat ham which I love. This year I was flipping through a magazine and saw a great recipe for a rib roast. It is going to be amazing!

Cornish Game Hens :)

Serve Talapia and pheasant...mmmm that sounds delicious!

turkey duh, nothing else!!

Reindeer are tasty. Especially that troublemaker Rudolph

what about a roast and tuna?? or roast and salmon cooked different. i love salmon so i can eat it all time.

yep, prime rib or filet mignon

We had wild goose one year. Man that was soooo good.

How about a pork tenderloin and tapila (white fish)?

If you pick my answer as the best I'll supply you with easy, step by step instructions. : )

Roast Goose or Duck, Oysters Rockefeller, and/or Roasted Lamb (Crown Roast)

turducken

a chicken inside of a duck inside of a turkey

tons of meat...I plan on trying it this Christmas

Goose. Be traditional. (forget the fish, or prawn cocktail starter if you must).

This doesn't sound very glamourous or tasty but it is... A pre-stuffed turkey/chicken that comes already in the oven bag so all you have to do is put it in the oven...

corned beef and cabbage, easy meal

Find a whole striped bass, unbelievable baked.
I like a leg of lamb for the meat as well

Orange roughy, red snapper and mahi mahi are all good options that would be quite a bit different from salmon. Swordfish or catfish might also work depending on how you want to cook it. My first choice, however, would be fresh walleye (a freshwater species commercially fished in Canada and recreationally in the northern US) but availability depends on where you live. Our traditional family dinner at Christmas is Swedish meatballs and they are always a big hit. It's the ONLY time of the year that we ever have them.

Maybe serve a variety of shrimp or scallops. I have a great recipe for teriyake (i'm sure i didn't spell that right) chicken that is amazing and super easy. Let me know if you're interested. The sauce is made from scratch and doesn't taste like the crap you buy at the store.

You know if you can do some kind of roast . . . I can't . . . I can't make mine come out right . . . But anyway, Roasts of some sort (Bone in or Bone out) . . . Always go over very well for Christmas . . . I can't believe that you would not want to serve Salmon, even if someone else is doing one . . . Good luck. I hope you well.

we are going to have roast beef.

shrimp and crab, wild rice, yams, for salad, i would make cucumber, tomatoes in Italian dressing....broccoli cheesy soup, and spinach

Easy peasy - boiled lobsters all round!!!
There's no work involved except the cooking bit.

Carp. and salad. and Catfish
