Fannie Farmer Best Brownie recipe?!


Question: My Fannie Farmer cookbook is mia. I need the best brownie recipe out of it. I know that there were like 4 eggs and you beat them for like 8 minutes.

The Best Brownies
From: The Fannie Farmer Cookbook

6 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/4 cup butter(1 1/2 sticks)
4 eggs
2 tablespoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

preheat oven to 375 f. butter and lightly flour a 9x13x2-inch baking pan or dish(if you are using a pyrex dish,place it on a baking sheet during baking.) in a heavy -bottomed pan melt the chocolate and buttter over low heat, watching and stirring often. when melted, remove from heat and cool. in a mixing bowl,put the eggs,vanilla,salt.and beat well using an electric mixer for 8-10 min. stir in chocolate mixture gently,then add the flour,stirring only until blended. stir in walnuts. spread evenly in the pan and bake for 25min. when done,the center shoud be moist. remove from the oven and let cool. let settle for a few hours. then cut into squares. about 28 2x2-inch brownies.
