I'm trying to roast chicken? Please help!?!


Question: I bought a little chicken- about 3 lbs. I seasoned it and put it in the oven at 400 degrees. I cooked it for an hour and its still pink inside! Am i doing something wrong?

The oven temp was probably a little high. I would actually turn it down to 350 so the outstide of the bird does not dry out or get too brown and let the inside cook at a lower and longer temp. 30 - 45 min longer. Even if it is still a little pink I think after 1 1/2 hours you will be fine.

Also, I would cover it with foil or a cover if it is not in a roaster with one already.

Keep cooking it. Although, as long as the meat is above 160 degrees, the color does not matter

i would just baste it with some butter and let it cook on low for another 25-30mins.

I would cook it for an hour and a half or so. About 45 minutes at 400 and then lower the heat to 350 for the rest of the time. Even tent it with some foil if it looks like your skin may burn.

for a 3 lb bird you need 1 1/2 to 2 hours. your oven is really to hot. about 325 so you don't dry it out. meat thermometer needs to read 180.
