This is what I do... cheese fondue: cauliflower, carrots, celery and apple.
chocolate fondue: strawberries, marshmallows, banana, slightly frozen cheesecake and pineapple.
That list is my 'staple' .... I love fondue.
chocolate: any kind of fruit, graham crackers, marshmallows, dried fruit, nuts, sweet breads, cookies, crackers, pretzels
cheese: cut up pieces of meat, bread, veggies, pretzels, crackers
Traditionally, it is a good Artisan type bread that you would use to dip in a cheese fondue. Why not add tender-crisp veggies (cauliflower, carrot chunks etc) to the list? Even a good tender piece of meat cut into chunks would be good in cheese.
In chocolate, use bananas, pound cake, angel cake, apples, marshmallows, pretzels, orange segments, strawberries, why not good white french bread chunks (you like Nutella on bread--right?) almonds, biscotti.
Those are a few of my ideas. Hope you like 'em!
