Sure. If you visit Amazon and type "waffle iron" into the search box you will get dozens of returns.

The very thin ones are often called pizzelles - you'll find a bunch of them here -

You can also roll these into ice cream cones or shape them into bowls. Yummy!

im not sure how thin you want the waffle to be... but, you can always just use a normal waffle maker... the one that you turn upside down to cook it....just put in less waffle mixture and im pretty sure it will come out thin...xD

YUMMEH

The Italians make a cookie that is very similar to what you are talking about (a pitzelle - spelling?). I would think that you could use just about any iron; its the batter that will make a difference. Check any of the cooking sections of a department stores or one of the kitchen stores.

I believe what you had was a deep fried cookie made with a rosette iron. The fancy iron is dipped into hot fat, then into the cookie batter until coated, then back into the hot fat to fry. they are then sprinkled with icing sugar. You can buy the rosette iron at any good kitchen store. My mom used to make these and they are lovely, light and delicate.

You could make that light thin waffle cookie with the "Rosette Iron set ,they come with a Flower Iron--set of 4 to 6 irons (and a recipe for the mix)
I also included a few sites to view, maybe you'll find what you are looking for.
