How can I cook a good steak on the stove?!
My boyfriend and I want to make steaks for dinner tomorrow but we don't have any charcoal to BBQ.. and BBQing is our usual and favorite method. I don't think I have ever made a steak on the stove or in the oven. Is it possible to make a good steak on the stove/oven? What seasonings should I use? How long should I cook it for? Over what heat setting? How often should I turn it?
lol. Lots of questions. Thank you to all who offer help.

or just search "broiled steak"
Use the broiler in your oven and keep watching the steaks while they cook.Use any seasoning that you used outside.watch it close and you will see when to turn it.
Make steak frite. Use a stove top grill or cast iron skillent that has been heated quite hot. Season your steak and throw it in the pan or on the grill until the desire carmelization is achieve and the steak has good grill or pan marks. You can then put it into a hot oven to finish. This is what restaurants often do to achieve the correct doneness.
Never turn a steak more than once.
The guy above me answered it well. Use a Montreal seasoning, very good, get it anywhere. Don't forget the red.
While this may not help you this time in the cooking of your steaks, next time maybe. Get yourself a Grill pan, it is a pan designed with ridges and I have had much success grilling on this pan in the winter when grilling outside is just not a possibility.
