Can I use fishing line to tie up a roast ?!

Question: I wouldn't do it. It melted into my meat once and we had to make something else because it ruened it. Use kitchen string or colorless string. Good luck and please take care. I buy the cheapest stuff at the dollar store and it works great.

Don't do it.
It will melt onto your meat.

No. It could melt into the roast and then you would not be able to eat it. Use kitchen string or even uncolored thread.

it'll melt! And it probably won't hold!

just use butchers twine.

No, fishing line is plastic...plastic melts when heated...yuck

The fishing line would probably melt. Look in your grocery store or maybe even your local dollar store, and you should find in the cooking aisle , a little kit that has the string and also metal needles for sewing the opening of a chicken or turkey, and sometimes they have the metal clamp that keeps the chicken legs together. Everything you need for roasting.
You can use household cotton string, but make sure it is 100% cotton and not polyester or nylon in it as it could melt.
Eat a slice for me, with gravy on it,please.
