What to serve with a Frittata?!
Answers: I am making a Frittata for supper tonight, what would be good served with it?
What are you putting in it. If you already have a lot of veggies in it, then consider a nice fruit salad. Or maybe some poached pears done quickly on the stove top with a little sugar and red wine or cider vinegar.
You could also do a broth based soup, like Miso soup or Beef and Barley. Both of these are quick and easy.
A nice crusy bread with some roasted red peppers and garlic on it would be nice with it also.
It really depends what you are going to put in the frittata. I reckon a tomato salad or green salad, plenty of crusty bread and a nice chilled rose wine would make a lovely light meal.
Maybe a salad and some crusty bread.
What are you putting in it? A frittata can be a meal unto itself. It's one of the best ways I have to feed my kids vegetables in a single-dish meal.
I make them with zucchini, asparagus, artichokes, spinach or Swiss chard, broccoli, bell peppers, eggplant, onions, olives, tomatoes, leftover risotto or pasta, potatoes, cheeses, sliced hot dogs, ham... anything I have on hand and want to mix in... I've even made one with mashed leftover gnocchi with eggplant, peppers, tomato sauce, and parmesan cheese, and it turned out great!
(Really good: frittata made with leftover tomato risotto together with a diced smoked cheese... yum!)
Rice is a good side. Hashbrowns or fried potatoes are good. Some plain pasta with butter and Parmesian cheese might do well, too.
