Yes, don't forget to add little olive or vegatable oil and some pinch of soy sauce to enhance its flavor.

Happy Holidays!!!!

you will need soy sauce for the coloring fried rice is not suppose to be white.also u can ad shrimp or chicken in it that will make it even more delicious. enjoy!

cook the vegetables seperately and add once the rice and the egg are fried adequately

ideally you should steam the rice (rice steamers are good) use long grained rice.

dont overdo the oil.

ginger will give the dish an authentic chinese flavour, salt and soy sauce could be good , a bit of pepper also.

I've always read and heard to do the egg first, remove it, and chop it up and add it at the end.

For flavorings, I'd go with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil.

# 2 green onions, finely chopped
# 2 large eggs
# 1 teaspoon salt
# Pepper to taste
# 2 tablespoons oil for stir-frying, or as needed
# 4 cups previously cooked rice, at least 1 day old
# 1 – 2 tablespoons light soy sauce or oyster sauce as desired )

Prepration:
1) While you can use rice that has been cooked the night before, 2 or 3-day old rice is even better. Gently rub the rice between your finger to break up any clumps (this will help the rice cook more evenly).

2)Heat a frying pan or wok on medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons oil, swirling so that the bottom of the pan is coated. When the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium and add the well-beaten eggs.

Cook the eggs, stirring, until they are lightly scrambled but not too dry. Remove the eggs and clean out the pan.

3)Add a lil bit more oil, swirling so that the bottom of the pan is coated. Add the rice. Stir-fry for 2 - 3 minutes, until the rice is heated through.

4)Stir in the soy sauce or oyster sauce as desired.

Note: Traditionally, the Chinese do not add soy sauce to rice. If you like, you can serve the dish plain, without the soy or oyster sauce. Another option is to add a small amount (1/2 - 1 teaspoon) of XO sauce or thick soy sauce, or to use 2 - 3 teaspoons of dark soy sauce - these will give the rice a darker color and nicer flavour.

5)When the rice is heated through, add the scrambled egg back into the pan. Add the green onion. Stir-fry to heat everything through.

Serve hot.
Enjoy !

My family is asian, and this is the way we have "handed down" -- my family & friends cant get ENOUGH!!

Cook your rice in a separate rice cooker
In a wok or large pan scramble an egg ( you want it broken into tiny pieces), add your semi frozen veg's **if you put them under water or leave them out while making the rice they will be defrosted enough**
Add your rice to the egg/veg mixture. Cover in approx 1/3 cup soy sauce, salt, pepper, garlic to taste and BROWN the rice. We like to add a meat--I recommend kilbasa and/or bacon cut up into tiny bits. Stir meat into fried rice. When you are just about ready to remove from heat, add diced green onions--for color & taste.

Its amazing!!

salt, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper :)
