I don't have beef broth or beef broth cubes?!

Question: A recipe I am making, calls for beef broth. I don't have any beef broth cubes or broth. Is there anything that I can do to substitute it? I have chicken bullion cubes only. Please help.

Been in the same position, and using the chicken bullion in a stir fry, you'll never know the difference........Just a hint, though, you might want to start keeping track of your bullion cube supply, as the cubes can be used in so many dishes.....Enjoy!!

that depends on what your making

sure - use the chicken bullion. Or just use water - you will just have to season the water with salt and pepper.

Chicken broth and dirty socks make a good substitute for beef broth.

Or you could go to the store.

You can probably get by with the chicken. Or just use water. Just make certain you add enough other ingredients to make the dish flavorful, like spices, lots of veges, or maybe a can of soup, not diluted, added to it. I've often used tomato soup when caught out like this.

Chicken bullion might work depending on the recipe.
If you have the instant french onion soup mix, you can make the soup & strain out the onions - that's fairly close to beef broth (great way of making au jus too). If you have any Gravy Master or any other spice for gravy, you could try that too.
Wish I knew what you were making I could be more specific.
If you have mushrooms, you could try to make a stock by boiling them down with some water and salt, portabella stock would taste similar to beef stock but again, it depends on the recipe.

Chicken will have a lighter taste, so you're not going to end up with the same "richness." But, unless it's something that really needs to have a beef taste, it should work.

If your recipe already includes beef in some form, you should be fine.

Soy sauce and water (1 Tbs soy sauce per cup of water).
Red wine.
Water plus season to taste.

come on
think back in the 20's the soup lines
a splash of cold water and your corn starch will make the gravy just as fine ..

Just use the chicken bullion. Should work fine.
