Duck breast in the slow cooker?!

Question: My boyfriends mom brought down some duck breats, and a brand new slow cooker. Ive never used a croc pot before, but i know its pretty idiot proof.
She recommended i cook the duck breats in the croc pot, with some veggies and chicken broth.
Do i put in spices? or what can i do to make this a good meal?
ive never even tried duck before..im kind of nervous.

Well right now ive got the duck breast sitting in chicken broth, and i was just wondering what kind of veggies to put in?
i dont really like big chunks of potatoe...so thats out.
carrots and celery?

Yeah... I would mince some onion in there. Whatever veggies you like will be fine. Don't put anything that doesn't require much cooking in too early. A little rosemary or sage go well on duck... Be careful with the salt because there's some in the broth and it will reduce. Salt and pepper to taste when it's about done.

I've always had better luck using the high setting on crock pots and cooking things for 4-5 hours. 8 hours on low just seems to make things too soft and gross... while still not even seeming done inside at times...

If I had a duck breast, I would be roasting it not slow cooking it. High heat.

Yes carrots and celery would go nicely.
I would add some garlic and onion as well.
little salt.
And cook it for about 8 hours. It should be perfect.
And if you dont like pototoes maybe just put one or two in there encase anyone else likes them.
Duck will cook just like a chicken.
you will be fine.

I have never had duck breast in chicken broth, I put mine in Cream of Mushroom soup. It takes a lot of the wild game meat taste out of it. But the why you are fixing it sounds good to, I would put carrots and celery in it and and cook it for a while. It does take a little while in the slow cooker but it is worth the weight. Maybe you can make mash potatoes to round the meal out. I hope you enjoy!

TRY A GLAZE W/ ORANGE JUICE + GUAVA JELLY , BUT NOT IN THE POT, DO THE VEGGIES SEPARATE IN THE POT W/ THE CHIX BROTH
