Food in Style ???!
I live in Europe and I'm wondering if the following concepts might something for India. Here the food as experienced a trememdous "revolution", i.e. people are more concentrating on quality food or food from elsewhere only available recently.
Cooking shows are a hit and almost every magazine prints some recipes. And restaurants are boasting to have a famous "chef" in the kitchen.
Also Molecular cooking is becoming a hit.
The trend goes towards Gourmet Food from all over the world.
Do you think this might be something for India as well?
Is there a market for Gourmet Food? Would people be interested in buying such things?
What trends do you have experienced yourself when growing up? What has changed from the time you were little to these days?
Hope to speak to you soon.

Recently there has been a culinary revaluation in india ,people have become more adventurous and a lot of indians these days travel abroad for business and pleasure and so have tried different cuisines,,all the good hotels 5star have at least 2 specialty cuisine restaurant's and cuisines like italian, mexcian, thai french ,chinese are common.
The chefs these days give lot of importance to raw material and from where its sourced, fusion cuisine is a new trend which is catching up very fast,ie incorporating italian or thai cusine with indian cooking methods, there is even a veg jain italian resturant in mumbai that does not use onion or garlic in there cusine for there jain patrons,
Chefs like sanjive kapoor have taken cooking to a differint level with there cooking shows and serials, and these days there are a lot of specialty food shops that stock gourmet food items like salmon ,pate, truffels, wines, ets from around the world. Not only international cuisine but even specialty regional cuisine is also bing promoted very well as restaurants serving, malabari, goan, udpi, gujrati and other regional cusines can be found in every major city of northern india and vice versa.
uh...What?
India is experiencing a transition in eating patterns. There's an interesting podcast published by the BBC about it, I think it's one of the episodes of Feeding the World.
