Do you put fudge in the refrigerator to set?!
Is that a bad idea?
Answers: I seem to be getting conflicting opinions on this. Do I put my fudge in the refrigerator to cool? I've got it sitting on the counter cooling right now... my plan was to only put in the refrigerator if it won't set.
Is that a bad idea?
No, that is not a bad idea, its an excellent idea. You will be able to cut it better if you leave it out. I have done it both ways but I have found out that when I put it in the refrigerator , it is harder to cut.. If I get it really cold, I have to wait a while to cut it, otherwise it is crumbly. ..Keep up the good work, sounds like to me, you know what you are doing. . . .
No its not a bad idea. It should work. It it gets a little stiff, zap it in the microwave.
It doesn't matter, really. Some people put it in the fridge, others don't. Kinda like peanut butter! It's just what you prefer. I am going to let mine sit on the counter when I make it.
It depends on how you are making your fudge. If you made it completely from scratch and cooked it on an open flame with crystalized sugar, then you should NOT put it in the refrigerator because the sugar with crystalize and your fudge will turn out to be a big mess. However, if you followed a fudge recipe that used confectioners sugar rather than regular crystalized, it should be fine.
Not at all-I happened to make chocolates today-always put them in right away & leave them there too.
