Anybody have interesting avocado recipes?!
I've got recipes for guacamole, avo soup, and all kinds of sandwiches. I'm hoping for something different, maybe with cooked avocado...
Answers: It's avocado season here; everybody's giving me freebies and I hate having to toss out overripe fruit.

I saw on the food network , guy's bites and he made stuff avcado, with a shrimp stuffing, and tampora battered the whole thing and deep fried it, that looked really good. So do a search on his show food network if your interested in something different.
I just cut that Avocado right open put some salt and lemon juice and grab a spoon.
Cooking avacado makes it way too mushy. That is why they usually only put it in soup. However, you can always garnish your chicken, beef, pork, or salad with a beautiful display of thin sliced Avocado, a small slice of lemon, and a sprig of parsley.
Cooked avocado isn't very good.
I don't know if you have heard of these but, here are some simple things to do with avocado:
Cut avocados in bite-sized pieces, put into a bowl, and pour some bottled italian dressing over it. Eat it the way it is, or on potato chips, etc.
Mash avocado and mix with ranch dressing to make avocado ranch. My husband makes this to put on his garlic bread, and on his pizza, and on his chicken sandwiches.
Ina Garten from food network had a great recipe for avocado and lobster salad. I have never had it but it looked really good. Don't forget, you can top just about any salad or sandwich with avocado. Also, It might sound funny, but cut one up and use it in a California style omelet. Or B.L.T.A.'s Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado sandwiches. Or, take some avocado, lemon juice, garlic and maybe a little fresh basil and make an avocado spread for bread or crackers. Great for entertaining or a snack between meals. Enjoy your free avocados!
Don't cook them they become soft and mushy slice them up and add salt and lemon, its tasty! Have fun!
first, cut it in half. then ,take out the seed and scoop it out with a spoon. dice it up in little cubes then add some lemon or lime juice a little salt an pepper. stir but not that much you don't want it to be mushy. presto now you can eat it!
My favorite is mashed with fresh lime and garlic and just a little salsa. The only time I use it in recipes is tortilla soup and add it at the last minute. I also cube it and place it around broiled fish.

the best and delicious way is to cut it in half, scoop up the seed.then put it in the blender, add a cup and a half of fresh milk!very nice!
