Chocolate/cherry cake?!
Answers: I really want that gooey chocolate cake with the cherry pie filling in it. Can I make it just by using chocolate cake batter (from a mix) and then pouring the cherry pie filling over it before I bake it? Or do I need to adjust the baking time or amounts of the other ingredients? Also, does this cake have a name?

Black Forest Cake
you'd have to make a sort of pie or make two cakes, one box, and put the filling inbetwen the two layers. you cant cook the filling unless it is accually completely covered by the bater. the baking time should be about the same time, whenever a toothpick comes out without batter or crums on it when put in the middle. the cake would be called chocolate cherry cake. pie would be easier to make.
This is an old time favorite of my family's. My grandma just made it like this: use devil's food choc. cake mix, omit water with one can of cherry pie filling, make sure you still add the other ingrediants called for on cake mix box. Baking is the same. For the frosting use dark choc. frosting or melt semi-sweet choc. chips(a whole bag--2 1/2 cups) with one stick of real butter and 1 teas. vanilla extract. It is sooooo yummy!!
