CAN YOU take this recipe, and make it healthier????!
The only thing I was planning on doing so far is just using less vanilla chips and about 1/2 the amount of sweetened condensed milk. But I want it to come out really tasty still so Im not sure of anything yet.

Answers: Ive heard great reviews on this recipe (link below!) so Im going to be making it for a holiday christmas party soon. But I was wondering if there were any ways that I could make it healthier, but still have it come out just as good.

Almost every ingredient is high in refined sugar, so the only advice I could give you is to go to a health food store and check the labels on their products that you could possibly substitute for some of the ingredients. A healthy alternative would be to serve fresh fruit with a low fat, low sugar yogurt dip.
I'm pretty sure you can substitute 2 egg whites for one egg
You can also use Smart Balance spread (not the lite variety) for the margarine.
the only thing I can see that you can make this dish healthier is just cutting back the amount of chips. I wouldn't recommend cutting back on the condensed milk, because that is what is going to make it stay together. Good luck. the recipe does look good though!
You could try using yogurt for the butter and then egg substitute...or 2 eggs whites. I have used yogurt and apple sauce in place of oil and butter in baking recipes before...its not exactly the same texture as if you would have use the fat...but it does taste good. One of my subs has been raspberry yogurt for the oil in brownies....it was so good...I do it all the time now. :)
