How do i properly fry an egg?!

Easy step by step:
1-Over medium heat, warm a small amount of oil or butter, perhaps 1 1/2 tsp., in a small (8-inch) skillet, or spray the pan with nonstick cooking spray.
2 - Crack an egg into the pan. (if cooking more than 1 crack into a bowl and pour into pan to cook all evenly - only cook 4 at a time to keep pan from being over crowded)
3- Cook until the white appears solid, about 3 to 4 minutes.
-For basted eggs, put 1 tsp. or so of melted butter over the yolk
- For eggs sunny-side up, remove the egg from the pan with a spatula and serve.
-For eggs over easy, carefully flip the egg over onto the yolk side and cook another minute or two. (You'll probably want to turn the egg after 2 to 3 minutes, instead of 3 to 4, depending on how well done you like your eggs.)

Finally lift to a plate and enjoy!

Tips:
-If the egg's edges burn, turn down the heat.
-Most people like the egg cooked gently, as the white gets rubbery if the heat is cranked up. But some people like their fried eggs with browned edges. Turn up the heat if you like it that way!
-Some people cover the pan to make the egg cook faster, but then the yolk gets a film over the top.

Put about a tsp of butter in a frypan on medium heat. When butter is melted, add egg. Cook until white appears to be solid. Flip it over for 4-5 seconds to cook the yolk if you like it runny or longer if you like it hard.

It depends how you like your eggs!

If you like them to have crispy brown edges, fry it hot and fast.

If you like them not to have crispy brown edges, lower the heat.

If you like hard yolk, flip it over for the last few seconds of cooking.

If you like a soft yolk, don't flip it.

You just know. I get the pan very hot with a little olive oil in it. Season the egg in a separate bowl. Put the egg in the hot pan and when it starts to really sizzle, I flip it. There is still a little white that hasn't cooked, but it's okay because it will cook on the other side. If I had to time it I'd say about a minute or two on both sides. Don't forget to oil your spatula too.

The secret to frying an egg is to have a really good non-stick pan .. and a good rubber spatula .. or next, a really thin-edged metal spatula.

There are only two options to frying an egg:

Yolk up ........... OR ........ yolk down.

Put your pan over a medium flame and put a little butter into it, enough so that when it’s melted it just barely covers the bottom of the pan.

Take your eggs and crack them into the pan.

If you are making sunny-side up eggs, you can just cover the pan and let the egg cook for about two minutes. You don’t want to over cook them. The eggs will continue to cook after you take them out of the pan (this is called carry over).

For over easy eggs, there’s more to it .. over easy eggs just take practice. Get the eggs into the pan and let them cook for a minute, then tilt the pan so the eggs slide all the way to one side. Put your spatula under the eggs and then give them a gentle flip. For over easy, cook the second side for just 30 seconds or so. The more firm you want the yolk, the longer you need to cook it.

There's a secret to over easy. It' s easier to flip two eggs than one.

Never salt eggs while they are cooking. It will just make them hard.

Cold eggs give better frying results than room temperature eggs.

I often use oil to fry the eggs in. I fry the eggs on a medium to low heat .. to keep them from getting too done ... and too crispy around the edges.

If I don't want to flip the eggs .. which takes practice to make it work .. I simply swoosh some of the oil on top of the egg until it is to the firmness that I want.
