I love to bake, and whenever I try to make chocolate chip cookies....?!
P.S. I've already tried the "take them out of the oven early" trick, but whenever I do that one of two things happens: 1) they flatten out and become really thin (and sometimes greasy) or 2) they have a bad flavor and don't taste like chocolate chip cookies
Answers: They always taste amazing when they come out of the oven, but within a couple hours become dry...like they are still a little chewy but they are kind of crusty and crunchy on the edges and then just generally dry throughout. I want to know how to make moist, chewy cookies that will last. Any advice? Thanks!

Put the cookies in a container with a piece of bread on top like one you would use for a sandwich. The bread will become hard but the cookies will stay soft.
Put in a slice of bread with them when you store them :-)
once they've cooled down completely, pack them in air tight container. my mom would stick an apple in there for moisture control (keeps them moist) but then at least one cookie would end up touching the apple and the cookie tasted like that then. I chose to dampen a paper towel and stick it in there with the cookies so they can keep their moisture. Be sure to check back daily on them !
they are still cooking a litle from residual heat take them out sooner , get an airbake pan it works well with these thisis the only trick i can think of. maybe switch from using real butter to margarine or the other way around. i usuallly just buy th pilsbury dough and the early trick works great with it
add a little more milk or find a reciepe that calls for chewy cookies instead.
It might be rhetorical put storing them (after cooling) in a relatively moisture/air tight jar should keep them from going dry.
Maybe try a different recipe.
Ingredients Ingredients Ingredients. Catch my Drift? In order to make them chewy you should use more Brown sugar in recipe and a cake flour. Then you will have your solution. It is not in the baking times. Good Luck.
use more milk or mix the ingrediants a little better
sometimes what i would suggest but i dont no if will work but put a extra amount a margarine maybe.
My experience has taught me not to bake when it's humid and to use butter instead of margarine. Oh, and don't make the cookies too small. I'm still trying to get the hang of cooking with electric, as I grew up using a gas stove. Good luck!
Make sure you use only the freshest ingredients, when it calls for eggs, use 'large' sized eggs~(large eggs are the standard eggs used), and make sure you don't substitute fats~(ex; if it calls for real butter, use real butter.)
*Hope this is of some help! =)
