I am looking for a Chicken Noodle recipe, Yes I have been all over the web, and have yet to find the recipe.?!

Question: All the recipes I find are just like the kind you would dump out of a can. I am looking for the old fashioned kind, that has homemade noodle and is thickened at the end, served with mashed potatoes.

My Grandmother used to make it from Scratch for a house full of family, unfortunately she passed away 25yrs ago..

Closest I can find for you are linked below, One is the homemade noodles and the other is the Chicken noodle recipe. It calls for a pressure cooker but it's not necessary just make sure to cook all of your ingredients properly.

To make the roux at the end just mix equal parts flour and water together and add to the pot. Make sure to let it continue cooking about 10 minutes, so the raw flour taste is gone.

Hope it's what you are looking for =)

I don't know about serving with potatoes, but what I do is this..
Boil chicken in water or broth until tender and falling off of the bone. Remove chicken and pull off the bone into bite size pieces. Bring the broth back to a boil and add egg noodles and the chicken. Cook until noodles are done. If not thick enough I add flour to thicken or cornstarch. Salt and pepper to taste.

Homemade Egg Noodles

Place flour on working surface. Shape into a mound and make a well in the center. Add salt & egg to well. Supporting the outside of the well with one hand, use a fork to rapidly mix egg with a circular motion, drawing flour from the inside of the well. When dough forms a solid mass, shape into a ball.

Remove all caked flour/egg from hands & working surface. Lightly flour hands and working surface with all purpose flour and knead until dough is smooth and elastic. Add more flour at this point if dough is moist or sticky. If dough is too dry, dampen hands and continue kneading. Shape into a ball and cover bowl. Let rest 15 minutes. Shape into noodles by hand or use a pasta machine.

To cook "regular" noodles: place pasta in boiling, salted water and simmer 3 to 5 minutes, or until desired doneness.
