You could make a beef stew with creamy mash potatoes and veg.
You need:
1 pack of stewing steak(from supermarket)
1 pack of shallots(small onions)
1 glass red wine
1 pint of really good beef stock
Sliced carrots
potatoes
Butter
milk
salt and pepper
Bay leaves

Cover raw meat in seasoned flour and fry in a big pot until brown, then add stock, shallots, bay leaves, wine, carrots and cook on a low heat for 1 and a half to two hours so it gets a really good flavour and thickens.
To make the mash peel and chop potatoes and boil them in salted water until tender, drain them add a large amount of butter,a drop of milk and some salt and pepper and mash until there are now lumps.
I would serve with green veg like cabbage.

Hope this helps,good luck.x

If you mean the 31st December, the only traditional British dish for that evening that I know of is haggis - a Scottish dish consisting of a sheep's stomach stuffed with offal, oatmeal and seasoning. It tastes much nicer than it sounds, and is traditionally accompanied by 'neeps and tatties' - that is, mashed potatoes and mashed swede. Mash them with lots of butter and black pepper and they are very tasty. Here in the UK you can buy haggis at butchers and supermarkets, but in Italy I suppose you might find a supplier on the internet.

Scotch Eggs (hard boiled eggs wrapped in ground sausage meat and then deep fried)
Scones and Clotted Cream
Shepherds Pie
Steak and Kidney Pie
Fish and Chips
Bangers and Mash

The Yorkshire pudding is only going to be good if you have beef gravy from something !! Although my niece loves to dip hers in Maple syrup !!

most people put on a finger buffet on new years eve, thing like sausage rolls, sandwiches, cheese and pineapple on sticks, just something simple and easy

a sunday roast dinner will all the trimmings. roast potatoes, carrots, peas, cauli, yorkshire puds, joint of meat. Any other veg that you like. gravy made from the meat juices. yummmmm. For pudding apple crumble and custard
