I want to have a New Year's Eve dinner. What are some good things to cook?!

Question: I am thinking a bunch of appetizers and salads, but any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

We usually do seafood for New Years eve.
Some steamed shrimp, battered shrimp, Fried oysters, bacon wrapped scallops.
We serve finger foods/appitizers first to keep the price of the seafood down. sausage cheese balls (bisquick recipe) little smokies (pigs in blankets), lumpia, cheeseball with crackers, potato skins.
I have been known to do a Lasagna and garlic bread instead of all the seafood work, but seafood is the preference.

Ham, turkey, cheese slice tray; breads; chex mix; little smokies in bbq sauce; or sweedish meatballs; cheese ball and crackers; vegie tray; petit fours or cookies for ease of handling; potstickers; waldorf salad; jello salad; rolls; cheese dips (i have easy recipes. fried mozerella sticks; chicken fingers; mini quiches or roll tortillas with cream cheese and ham inside then slice. Do you have a Sam's Club near you? They have boxes of already made up appetizers in frozen section. Very easy. Pop 'em on a tray and heat!

Fried oysters. I make them every New Years when I have company.
It's a tradition to buy that fish in a jar -- mackerel fillets in either sour cream or white wine vinegar. Good stuff.

Try a Fiesta Party. You can make margaritas and have tacos or fajitas. Just make a really pretty display of all of the toppings. We had it one year for Christmas instead of the same old turkey and ham and it was a huge success.
