No, but the recipe was just sent to me! I had to ask a question about my toffee. It tastes overcooked, but it's at the right stage. I might throw this batch out and make another one. I have to buy more chocolate though. I can't remember the last time I bought frozen concentrated OJ. It's hard to do when I have a tree in my yard!!
they sound really good
Never heard of them...sound kinda gross(only cuz of the can of oj...stuff is thick), but something worth trying...
ever tried Oreo Truffles??? Similar to make and very yummy!
SOUNDS YUMMY!!! Oh my gosh my mom would die over these things
These sound good. I'll bet they would also be good double dipped in chocolate instead of confectionery sugar.
thank you so much for the recipe!! I have had something similar to that I believe. I do not think it had oj in it though but those sound really good. I think what I had was rolled in coconut though....but I have never made the ones you were asking about.
My mother has a similair recipe.
Has chopped pecans included with the wafers and instead of rolling in powdered sugar, roll in sweetened coconut flakes.
We call them Orange Snowballs.
Yum.
Sometimes I use both of these recipes, depending on what I have available ingredients
Orange Balls
Makes 6 dozen
1 (12 ounce) package vanilla wafers
4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 (6 ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup flaked coconut
Crush vanilla wafers to make fine crumbs. Add sugar, butter or margarine, and orange juice concentrate. Mix well.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll balls in pecans or coconut. Chill until firm.
Christmas Orange Balls
Makes 2 to 3 dozen
4 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 (6 ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration
In a medium bowl, stir together the graham cracker crumbs, confectioners' sugar and pecans. Make a well in the center and pour in the orange juice concentrate, corn syrup and melted butter. Mix well by hand until dough forms. Roll into 1 inch balls and roll the balls in confectioners' sugar. Store at room temperature in an airtight container. Put a sheet of waxed paper between layers to prevent sticking.
Yes I make them, but for my own tastes, I like to roll them in cinnamon instead of additional confectioners sugar.
a friend of mine wrote down the recipe a while ago and shes made them already. damn.... they are delicious. i recommend them to everyone.
sounds good, i have to try it
