What to feed my picky eaters?!
Answers: I have 4 children. They are 2, 6, 8 and 10. They are all picky eaters. My 10 yr old will not eat any fruit(NONE). And I have a really hard time getting the older 3 to eat veggies. We usually have pasta, pizza, burgers, pork chops and things like this. I am getting bored and tired of cooking new things that no one will eat. Any suggestions, recipes that might help and also be healthy would be so greatly appreciated.
Well, I can help with the veggies. If you have a food processor or blender, blend up cooked veggies and add it to ANY recipe! You can't taste it AT ALL! I have put spinach in brownies and just about anything else you can think of. I know it sounds gross, but I promise, no one will be able to tell!
On the site www.recipezaar.com, they have "Kid Pleaser" recipes. Try some!
Go out to a place like GFS or some other store and buy a lasanga or something like that, they are tasty and pretty healthy and they are guarenteed to fill just about anyones appetite. Ive had plenty of them and i reccomend them. Good luck!!
You are not alone. My 9 yr old only eats hamburgers, steakums, chicken patties, fish sticks, ramen noodles, pizza, pasta with butter, etc... Occasionally we can get her to eat corn or raw peas (won't eat them cooked).
I have found that the secret to kids eating is dipping. My daughter likes ketchup, peanut butter, and ranch dressing. She dips apples in peanut butter, carrots and cucumbers in ranch dressing, and everything else in ketchup...
I've tried those kid pleasing recipes - they don't work...
sit down and tell "them" of your frustration
and declare you will only serve soda crackers and chicken soup until they cooperate with you..
That nonsense got me a trip to the garage and a swift butt bashing and shaking... It was clear that attitude was not tolerated and I was left with the threat I could live in the garage if I continue..
My nephew is a picky eater. I usually have him upstairs and not in the kitchen when I cook. He doesn't like some things. I just cook it and he never knows what it is. He enjoys the taste and asks for more. So try cooking without the children around. I know this may be hard because you have 4. I do to but they are not as picky. Just try to slip in a few of these items they don't like by not telling them and have it well blended in the mixture. I found that the helpers you find in the store work and when making meatloaf add a few veggies. They may never know. It has been working good here and his parents seemed to be pleased that he never knows. As for the fruit. Make a special dessert that they may not really know or a "smoothie" with the fresh fruit.
Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld has recipes to make everything you are cooking...healthy
dont give them a choice i never got 1 either eat or go hungry
From my experience, there are some ways I hope it'll work for you. One of the ways I use for my son to let him eat veggies, is to make it like a sauce on the meat. I will not tel him what it's made of. Even the brown rice I ground it & boil it (medium grounding) & use it as Kebbeh. By shaping the rice & stuffing it with kebbeh meat. It'll become like a ball. I keep it in the freezer to fry or grill it when ever is needed.
Other ways, when you cook something that you want them to eat, make a competition. Or a game like who will eat this all will get so & so. You could do other thing if you can handle it! to keep in the house what ever you want them to eat ONLY. So when they are REALLY hungry, & they have no choices or money order food. Believe me they'll eat it ( :

Don't tell hem what's in it. I have he same problem with my boyfriend, he loves my food but hates most of the ingredients. He doesn't even know he's eating them. Please stop feeding your children these plastic foods. Get rid of the hamburgers and pizza. The only reason children like this things is because they were fed these crap in the first place. When I have kids, I'm not even gona ever make them try these nasty, unhealthy foods.
