Can you help me with my holiday Ham?!

Question: I want to make a glaze for my ham that I saw on food network where after they rub it on they use one of those mini blow torches to caramelize the glaze.

So, for the glaze I was thinking brown sugar, clove, maybe a little pineapple juice to make it stick.

I know I am missing some ingredients or suggestions please. Also do you caramelize it before or after baking.

Thanks

a blend of lemon juice and the pineapple juice would give it the tangy flavor you are looking for. Or you could use orange juice concentrate?

You want to bake the ham first, then decorate it. Before baking score the fat down to the meat with sharp knife in diamond pattern. After baking pat the glaze onto the ham. Use the torch to melt (caramelize) your sugar mixture.

the diamond hatch work will help the sugar glaze stick to the ham!!!

If I were you I'd go to foodnetwork's website and look up the recipe, that would be your best bet!

Yes, I can help you eat it.

Cherry Ham Glaze

Ingredients-
3 tablespoons water
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 (12 ounce) jar cherry preserves
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Preparation-
Stir together water, vinegar, corn syrup, preserves, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 minutes.

also use mustard...everything else is right..and you caramelize it before.....using a baking bag is good to use on it..it will help it from drying out! good luck and merry Christmas!
