I'm making truffles...?!

Question: Is there a special technique to dipping the truffle in the chocolate for the coating so that they come out looking nice? Should I use a slotted spoon, a toothpick...? I've obviously never made truffles before but want to do something nice for my neighbors this year so any advise, at all really, would help! Thanks so much!!

first make sure they are really cold, so they do not melt when dipping them..I use a fork, and dip them, then tap the fork on the side of the pan to get rid of the excess....The ones i just made were dipped in white choc, then after that hardened,,i used a fork to drizzle melted milk chocolate over the top in just some thin squiggly lines...line them up on wax paper to prevent sticking..good luck, and Merry Christmas from Kansas

i would suggest resting them on a meat fork. like, the long fork with two prongs if they fit. that's kinda what the chocolate factory kit comes with and it works great for coating truffles...mmmm...oreo truffles....anyways don't go for the toothpick...you'll end up just plucking balls out of the chocolate. good luck and have a great day!
