Answers: Ok have you ever eaten sweet and sour sauce??? its the best!! i love chinese food and rice and i wanted to cook it.. can u tell me how to make sweet and sour sauce?? plz and thank you~~
Thick sweet and sour sauce for dipping
Ingredients
? cup of chicken stock
4 tbsp of white vinegar
4 tbsp of brown sugar
2 tbsp of soy sauce
1 tbsp of tomato ketchup
1 tbsp of cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp of water
Method
Mix the cornstarch together with the water until fully dissolved. Set aside.
Place the remaining ingredients into a saucepan.
Mix together and heat over a medium flame. Bring to the boil, stirring constantly.
Once the sauce begins to boil, reduce the heat and add the cornstarch mixture whilst stirring continuously.
Continue to simmer for several minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serve with deep-fried prawns, chicken or pork balls in batter.

Take apricot or peach preserves and add cider vinegar and sugar, mix well you can also use marmalade but you will have the orange rinds to deal with. thin out the jelly until you get to the right consistency. add the sugar as needed to adjust the taste. you acn also do a sweet & sour plum sauce using plum preservse.

AUTHENTIC SWEET N SOUR PORK(use any meat)
2TBLspn flour
1egg
1spn oil
1/4cup water
500g lean pork,cubed+oil for deep frying
1green pepper,cubed
3rings pinapple,cut into bits
3/4cup stock
2TBLspn honey
2TBLspn soy sauce
1/4cup vinegar
1TBLspn cornflour blended with1/4cup water
1Combine the first4ingredients to make a smooth batter.Stand10mins.Add pork&coat well
2Heat enough oil for deep frying till very hot&carefully fry pork in batches,for5mins;drain well.Reheat oil again&re-fry pork till golden&crisp(fry twice)Drain on absorbant paper.
3Drain all the oil,leaving about a tablespoon in the wok.Heat oil&stir fry pepper&pinapple3mins.Add stock,honey,soy&vinegar.Bring to boil.Add blended cornflour,boil,simmer till thick.Add pork,heat through&serve on steamed rice,garnish with spring onion.
