My husband is "THE KING OF BUFFETS"!:) And I "THANK GOD FOR THE FACT THAT HE IS"! When we got married 7 years ago we both brought to the marriage "4 SONS WITH 4 DIFFERENT APPETITES"!:O So I would watch what the boys selected so I knew what to buy when I went grocery shopping, and everyone would be happy.:)
So my suggestion for both you, and him would be "TAKEN HIM OUT FOR DINNER TO A BUFFET, OBSERVE WHAT HE SELECTS TO EAT, AND BY ALL MEANS MAKE A MENTAL NOTE OF THE SELECTIONS"!:o "THEN SURPRISE HIM WITH A SPECIAL DINNER OF HIS FAVORITES"!:)
(=^v^=)
Jeez. I think I'd buy cereal by the pallet and tell him to have at it so you can enjoy your good cooking. Make him fix his own stupid food.
Make him some CHICKEN or TURKEY! You know, put it in the oven add some veggies or rice. Try different pasta ideas, there are plenty on the betty crocker website. Good luck, i know how it is. My sisters husband is picky too like that. Quite frankly I hate cooking for him. I always have to make a special plate for him. But oh well, people like what they like!
...Try some Asian food.. Everyone loves Asian food.. Ahahaha.
does he like milk? you could cook some good chicken and milk. (Italian idea) cook the chicken in a pan with butter and a little of olive oil. When it is "blond" cover with milk and put some salt. Cover with a lid and bring to boil, take off the lid and let the milk dry but not too much.. it is really a delicious dish!
For a side you could make asparagus with parmigiano cheese or spinach with melted cheese.
Good luck
There is always chicken, that can be done 40 million ways.
The quickest and easiest is to buy a Rotisserie chicken,
shred it with your fingers- set aside- boil some pasta(any kind) according to directions- drain; add in chicken and pour some half and half over it: add salt and pepper, and grate in some good parmesan cheese- toss and you have a one pot meal. You can add some vegetables to it as well. Personally, I would tell him "honey, I run a home not a restaurant, and where is your sense of adventure"?????
cassaroles allow you to be creative and so do crock pot meals soups and stews so try being creative in those things you can always cook it to the point where he will like it then add things to kick it up for you !! here are some ideas have fun:)

My wife has the same issues with food but hers are medical reasons. Chicken, turkey, rice and pasta along with vegetables are the staples of what she eats.
You can boil some chicken and make soft shredded chicken tacos with a non-spicey shredded cabbage salsa.
I made a chicken pasta with chicken, mushrooms, onions and some pasta with salt, pepper and thyme as the seasoning. Simple and good tasting.
Chicken with teriakye sauce and some steamed rice and vegetables.
You could look for several pasta dishes as well as couscous which is a pasta. Lots of options it just takes loads of creativity. I also have 10 family members that are picky eaters so family get togethers are always a pain.
This is quick if you have a pressure cooker. Longer with a regular pot.
I buy the $8.99 bag of Tyson's natural wings. With sea salt, salt about 3 cups of water. add 1/4 stick of light margarine, about 1/4 tsp. pepper and a small chopped onion. Add about 1/2 bag of wings and 1/2 large bag of whole wheat noodles. Turn the fire on high until pressure cooker rocks then turn it down to about 3 for 15 minutes. Run cold water on pot until top is loose. An 8 qt pot cost about $40. If you use a regular pot cook the chicken and noodles separate because the noodles will foam. Cook chicken until it falls off the bone. Add noodles and cook about 6 mins.
Tell him to learn to try new stuff or start cooking for himself.
If he doesn't like what you fix, then he doesn't have to eat it.
Better yet...fix yourself what you want and let him fend for himself!!!!
