Why do my cupcakes keep burning?!
Answers: The last four times i made cupcakes followed the directions on the box they burned. Last night I even put them in for 5 minutes less than the lowest time on the box and the bottoms still burned.
Make sure the oven rack isn't too close to the bottom of the stove, use cupcake sleeves, and you might need a lighter colored pan- dark pans have burned nearly everything I've tried to make
try baking them on a lower heat
Are you putting them in cupcake holders? Something isn't right. Is the temp where it needs to be? Maybe you need to turn the heat down.
Sounds like your oven is not cooking correctly. Get an oven thermometer and check it to make sure it's correct. To help make sure you only cook one pan at a time, have the oven pre- heated. Good Luck
Your oven temp must be off. Try taking a thermometer and put that in the oven to see what the difference is between what the thermometer reads and what temp you set the oven on. That should help you adjust your temperature accordingly.
You need to make sure that your oven is baking at the right temperature, so get an oven thermometer and check it against, say 350.......ALSO, did your cupcakes burn on the top or the bottom?? You might want to try adjusting the level of the baking rack in your oven......

Make sure your oven rack is in the center of the oven. Sounds like it might be on the lower part of the oven which will cause burning. Also make sure your oven temp is correct. You might have to turn it back 25 degrees. Good luck and hopefully this will help.
Your oven may be heating up too high. Get a thermometer and make sure that 350 degrees on the dial is actually 350 degrees. All ovens have to be calibrated, and from time to time it is good to check to make sure.
At the same time, make sure that you are cooking your cupcakes on the middle rack. I know that sometimes I move the racks in my oven around to accommodate for large items, then when I bake, if the rack is too low, things tend to burn on the bottom.
