How much does a tray of Lasagna cost?!

Question: My friend made me 3 Lasagna trays & I want to pay her for them but I know that if I ask her how much, she will say "don't worry about it" So I want to give her money for them but I do not want to insult her if it's not enough.

each tray feeds 16-20 people X 3 trays.

how much do you think I should pay her?

100 dollars and up it depends on the tray size.

Around $10-12 a piece.

$30.00 for the supplies.

$ 30

5.00$

If it's for 16-20 people per tray, just give about $20-23

8-10 bucks a peice

$30.00 is about for trays that feed that people.

I would give her like $30 bucks at least.....good lasagna can cost a lot, depending on the quality of ingredients that was used (fresh mozerella, or processed, Italian sausage, or hamburger, ect)

just think if you got that catered......that would cost well over $100....so give her a thrid of that since shes your bud and tell her you "owe her one"!

for 4 people = ~$10
for 12 people = ~ $35
for 18 people = ~ $40

so i guess around $120.
good luck

That is very sweet of you! It is expensive to make home made lasagna especially if you make it like I do. The cheese and meat is the most expensive part. Did she use Ricotta and Mozzerella cheese? I'd say about 35-40 dollars should cover the cost of all the supplies to make 3. Since she does not seem to want any money for it, why not take her out to dinner? You guys can have a nice dinner for about what she paid to make the lasagnas for you. Good luck!

I paid $60.00 for a lasagne of that size from my local Italian deli/catering. It was not a high priced place, nor in a high-priced neighborhood.

This lasagne contained a ton of good beef and sausage, though, and the sauce was all homemade. That included an extra pint of homemade sauce.

Eight servings would roughly be a 13x9 typical glass home use baking dish. Meat, pasta, cheese, spices and sauce should run about $10.00 for that size, so $20.00 for a tray of 16 should cover costs. I would also consider the preparation time, (1.5 hours), and the cost of pans it was provided in if they were disposable.

Perhaps a gift certificate for a butcher shop or spice store may be an alternative to just handing over cash.

Well, I would say $45 - $50 for all three trays. It takes a lot of time to make good Lasagna and depending on the ingredients she used......it's not cheap to make. I think that would be fair.
